I'M RICHARD 

For as long as I can remember I have been inclined to help people that were struggling. One of my core values is compassion and I strive to explore that in as many ways possible. 

Since starting to professionally help people reclaim their active lives, I have discovered the power of a process where education, mentoring and movement all combine for the most holistic approach to guiding each individual to their goal.

Over 10 years ago I embarked on a journey to help as many people as possible through my own style of coaching. I used past experiences with my sporting backgrounds in swimming, running, karate, gymnastics, triathlons, CrossFit and Obstacle Course Racing to provide the best workouts possible.

Fast forward to July 2023 when I qualified as an Active Life Professional and now helping people get out of pain and becoming confident with who they are every day.

I have found my passion in giving others the ability to understand and progress through life in ways they never knew was possible.

If I'm the right person for the job, we'll book an in-person or online meeting through Zoom. If not, I can refer you to another trusted professional nearby.

Free Consultation

During your free consultation, we'll review your goals, check your range of motion, provide helpful information, and start creating a personalized plan to achieve your health, fitness, and lifestyle goals.

Assess

During your first 2-4 weeks, we'll work together one-on-one to develop a functional diagnosis, establish success metrics, and create your personalized exercise plan.

Develop

During this phase, we'll continue to work closely together to build your confidence and proficiency in four essential areas:

1. Performing movements safely, effectively, and efficiently
2. Understanding and interpreting exercise programs
3. Enhancing lifestyle factors that directly influence achieving your goals
4. Grasping the primary principles and the fundamentals of recovery, capacity, and exercise

Ascend

Once you've attained freedom of movement and no longer require one-on-one sessions, you have the option to continue with personalized sessions or transition to remote coaching. In remote sessions, you'll follow your customized program at your convenience, wherever you prefer. This phase includes monthly mentorship meetings with me to track your progress, cover important educational topics, and make adjustments as necessary.

Freedom

Once you've reached your initial goals and mastered the path to success, I believe you've earned the Freedom to chart your next journey. Whether it's maintaining your achievements or preparing to conquer Mount Everest, this phase empowers you to customize programs to suit your needs and reclaim your physical independence.

Lifechanging! 

I had just passed 50yrs of age and I had done my second Swedish Classic ( Ski, Run, Swim, Bike). I trained regularly but without a clear plan. Since then I have beaten all my personal records. Improved my time at Stockholm Marathon with more than 40 minutes, Vasaloppet with more than 3 hrs and at the age of 55 I did my 3rd Swedish Classic with personal records for all distances and managed it within the total time for a Gold medal. Getting a plan personally fit for me has paid off big time.

Overcame Challenges!

When I met Richard I needed help to fix my “chronic” knee pain. After 6-8 months of consistent training with him, I got a healthy knee. He also helped me to recover from covid and a surgery. The knowledge and understanding of the body Richard has is outstanding, he could always identify clearly and quickly where the problem was, he found ways to help my body, always respectfully and pushing limits I didn’t know I could overcome. After ~2 years having him as a PT, I learnt holistic ways to train through mobility and strength. I learnt to listen to my body to push limits and let it rest when it needs it.

I have never felt so strong and confident as I do today.

Continuing!

After a thorough mobility assessment, some thoughtful programming from Rich got me fit to attend and enjoy a hiking event, despite previous setbacks and injuries whilst self training.  
Now some of my fitness stretch goals which had seemed unreachable just a few months ago, are starting to seem achievable; I'm looking forward to continuing my PT program with Coach Rich in the coming months.

To find the courage and confidence to keep coming to CrossFit classes by the age of 51 without having any kind of previous experience from the sport, requires a coach that loves his job and cares about his students. The most value I get from working with Rich is that I always feel great every time we work out. I get timely feedback on my performance, he tells me any observed improvement, checks how I feel and asks if I notice any differences with how I move, how I breathe, etc. Overall assessment is done and not just going straight into lifting or any exercise for the session.
